Sometimes we need to see things in black and white. This way we can't deny the truth, whether it is the amount of exercise we are getting or the types of foods that we are eating.

If there is one detriment to maintaining an active lifestyle it is a desk job. Some people, me included, spend hours sitting in a chair staring at a computer screen.
Apparently there are some offices who have found a way to work around this; workstations that fit over treadmills.

It can feel like a successful fitness routine is impossible. But I think many times that's because we are looking for instant results. We don't see the importance of building up our routine, learning how to be consistent and the hard work it takes to get where we want to be.

Today in my neck of the woods (Wisconsin), I am feeling pretty grateful for unseasonably warmer weather. Yesterday we hit as high as the mid 50's and today we are in the 40's. It is quite a contrast from a year ago when we were digging ourselves out after receiving more than two feet of snow.

Lately I have been thinking a lot about spring. I am thinking about sunshine and warmth. I am thinking about those walks I love to take.
For some reason the thought of warmer days seems more motivating when it comes to exercise.

In my last Fitness blog I addressed the issue of yoga being a potentially dangerous form of fitness. Not that I believe yoga in itself is dangerous but I do agree that doing it wrong could lead to injuries.

There is a new report out that is stirring up quite a bit of controversy. The "New York Times" featured an article this past week on the dangers of yoga.
Yoga seems to be such a soothing, tranquil form of exercise.
