Perfectionists

Are you always striving toward perfection? Wondering why it never seems you can get there with your money? The problem in dealing with absolutes is that rarely does the world work that way. You can get an A-plus in school, but not in life. For those who stress about things like attaining the perfect credit score to finding the best performing mutual fund, you simply cannot win. Instead of worrying about being the best, accept that in the financial world doing very well is enough. Only a very small percent of people have a credit score in the high 700s…so … Continue reading

Secret Weight Loss Weapon: The Pedometer

The pedometer is a wonderful thing. You can get them for about a dollar at just about any WalMart check out counter, so they’re cheap. They are so small that you can wear one all day and barely notice it is there. They don’t even need batteries! A pedometer packs a powerful punch though. It is a serious motivational tool that can get you to truly go that extra mile. Whether you are walking, jogging, running, dancing or climbing stairs, a pedometer will count your steps for you. Sure, one step seems like a small and insignificant thing to measure … Continue reading

Fitness Journal – Stressing Your Pedometer

Good evening, sorry for the lateness of the hour, but I wanted to get this journal entry in before I went to bed. Today was another run to get things done both around the house and in the yard. I’m having oral surgery on Friday to extract the painful wisdom tooth and it’s next door neighbor that’s been infected for a while now. Personally, I can’t wait for the surgery, but in the meanwhile – I need to get things done so that I can rest afterwards. Pedometer Stress I’ve described using my pedometer before and we’ve talked many times … Continue reading

10,000 Steps and Counting: Setting Some Goals

Are you a perfectionist? I am. If Heather, or the book says that I have to walk 10,000 steps then 5,000 simply won’t do. The problem is that sometimes our desire to be perfect, sets us back or even worse, prevents us from getting started. If you think about it–it’s silly. I can’t walk 10,000 steps a day so I won’t try. . .but that’s how we think isn’t it? But remember our mantra? If you aim for nothing, you’ll get their every time. To aim for something you have to start somewhere. The question is. . .where to start? … Continue reading
