One of the excuses many of us use to avoid working out is that we're too tired or we don't have enough energy to make it through the workout, here are some tips to get you some fast energy boosts morning, noon and night.

  • The Two Percent Rule - A shower always makes me feel two percent better whether I am exhausted, ill or just stressed. Rolling out of bed and into the shower may not seem to make sense when you're going to work out - but a quick wash can refresh you and get you all ready for your workout
  • Pump Up the Volume - Make yourself a great workout compilation that you can burn to CD, tape or put on your MP3 player - music can stimulate your brain and get your adrenaline pumping
  • Dress the Look - Skip the drab colors and add some brightness to your wardrobe - go for the bright shirts or skirts and feel brighter in the moment you put it on
  • Peppermint Altoids - The curiously strong peppermints are great for more than just refreshing your breath - they can really add some pep and zest to your day
  • Brush Your Teeth - Even at my groggiest - brushing my teeth wakes me up and clears the cobwebs away
  • Cold Water - Take water breaks throughout the day, not only to hydrate, but cold water generates energy to warm it up and it's bracing
  • Play Breaks - Take the time to play with your kids, there's nothing like laughter to really wake you up and charge your batteries
  • Plants and Flowers - Add them to your office and your home - not only do they generate oxygen, but they give you a happy thought whenever you glance at them

What other suggestions do you have to pep up your day and your energy levels?
