Can You Get Fit?

by Heather Long | More from this Blogger

In a word? Absolutely. Getting fit is easy to do, the formulas are out there for everyone. It takes some exercise, some proper nutrition and some sweat. As nice as it would be to be able to take a magic pill to turn you into a fit and slim person, there really isn't. If you are being realistic about getting fit, then you'll know it's not just a couple of days working out here or there and giving up when it does not work out the way you want it to.

Fitness

Fitness is about more than a good physical tone. It's about being in a good mental place, having goals, good self-image and positive habits. It's about being in a good emotional place, respecting yourself and caring about how you feel. We tend to make it more complicated than it is. We get caught up in the hype about the new workouts, the new fads, the new fast and quick ways of getting it done.

To often we think because something worked for a friend of ours, it has to work for us. When it doesn't happen for us in the way we think it should - we give up. When you start an exercise program - you may think that first work out ss tough. It's not the hardest one though. The hardest ones come about a week after you've first started your workout program.

Those later workouts come when your muscles are sore, tired and feeling over worked. Those are the hardest workouts. Because you'll begin to come up with excuses for why you can't do them. You're tired, you're overworked or you have other commitments.

The best thing you can do to maintain your fitness is to set goals and start working out. Make a fitness schedule. Set a work out time. Keep that schedule and those appointed times. If you're really tired and you typically workout for thirty minutes, do at least ten minutes. The great thing about exercise is that it supercharges you and it gives you strength, energy and more.

So - can you get fit? Tell me about it.
