Curbing Those Hunger Pains

It has been just over two weeks that I have been daily working out on my Wii Fit Plus and made changes to some of my eating habits. Notice that I said “some.” I am a big advocate of taking small steps. I have managed to successfully shed a few pounds and I can feel a real difference in my energy levels. Having an exercise routine isn’t the biggest struggle. It is the eating where I fall. So I have put some plans into motion that include things like adding more fiber into my diet which helps you to feel … Continue reading

A Review of “Made to Crave” by Lysa TerKeurst

I was so excited about three weeks ago when I received in the mail two free copies of “Made to Crave” by Lysa TerKeurst, president of Proverbs 31 Ministries. I was eager to read the book and provide a review since Lysa TerKeurst also happens to be one of my favorite authors. Notice that I said “two” free books. Yes, one is to give away. Spirituality and Fitness

Faith and fitness has been on my radar screen the past few days and now it has become a news story in the army. Until then I wanted to give this little teaser. Lysa TerKeurst was recently a guest blogger on CNN’s Belief blogs called, “My Take: When the Fat Girl Got Mad at God.” I can’t recommend the blog enough. Lysa gets real about her struggle with food and how her faith has helped her to overcome unhealthy eating habits. The blog stirred some controversy. … Continue reading

A Wallet For Budgeting?

Have you set up a new budget for the New Year? Do you revise your budget as things in your life change? Maybe you think of budget as a four letter word. Budgeting and dieting are a lot alike. A diet restricts food intake and cuts out everything that we think of as fun food. That’s why diets don’t work. A lot of people view budgets in the same way. Everything that is a must-pay is added to the budget and there’s often no room for fun in an effort to get finances in order. How is a budget going … Continue reading
