End of June: Fitness Goal Check Up

It's the last day of June and it's time to look back at the month behind us. I think it's important that we take a day to self-assess where we are and where we're going. We've done this for every month of this year and now we're leaving behind the sixth month of the year, entering the height of summer, preparing to celebrate the country's birthday and beginning the trek into the end of the year.

Wow!

For those of you who've been with us or who are just joining us here - woo hoo to you! It's a privilege to write and share my thoughts, my experiences and more. I have had a great time these last six months and I look forward to being here for the at least another six!

  • How are your goals going?
  • Have you started working towards achieving them?
  • Are you encountering obstacles in your path?
  • What are the obstacles?
  • Are you discouraged or are you challenged?
  • Are you still striving towards your goals?
  • Have you made it to the mileposts along the road to your final destination?
  • What is preventing you if you aren't?
  • Are you feeling good?
  • Are you feeling bad?
  • If there is one thing you could do right now to improve all of the above, identify it.
  • What are your goals for July?
  • What is your game plan?
  • Where will you be in 31 Days?

Consider all of the above questions and answer them honestly. There's nothing wrong with admitting that you have been lax in some areas and harder in others. Goal checking lets us take a progress report. We get to see where we are and where we need to be. If you decide that your goals need modification, go for it. There's no law that says you can't alter your goals.

In fact, you may have set a fitness goal like many do at the beginning of the year. If you feel like you've done little or nothing to accomplish that goal, take the first step back towards it and forgive your lack of forward progress. Don't beat yourself up with regrets. What's done is done. You can't change yesterday, but you can make tomorrow happen.

Have a great rest of your day! We'll see you back here tomorrow on July 1st to tackle our July fitness program, goals and challenges.
