End of November Fitness Goal Checkby Heather Long | More from this Blogger 30 Nov 2006 05:16 AM Wow - is it really the end of November? It seems like just yesterday we were out trick or treating and now we're getting holiday decorations up, still worrying about those extra pounds from Thanksgiving. December also marks my first anniversary here at Families.com and the first anniversary of the site overall - so Happy Birthday Families.com and to all of you who have been with us here this year and joined us throughout the year - woo hoo to you too! The end of the month Fitness Goal Check began as a way to help us look at the month we've just finished as well as planning ahead for the next month. So for those of you keeping track, you've got about 31 days left to work on the resolutions you made for 2006 and it's time to start thinking about the New Year's resolutions you want to make for 2007. December is the month we celebrate Hanukah, Kwanzaa, Solstice and Christmas, not to mention New Year's Eve at the end of the month. It's a time for families, for celebrating and for gift giving. It's also a time for many of us when our exercise routines get left by the wayside - we're going to talk about that in December and look for ways to maintain our fitness routines and more. What are your plans for December? End of the Month Fitness Goal Check for November
Consider all of the above questions and answer them honestly. There's nothing wrong with admitting that you have been lax in some areas and harder in others. Goal checking lets us take a progress report. We get to see where we are and where we need to be. If you decide that your goals need modification, go for it. There's no law that says you can't alter your goals. In fact, you may have set a fitness goal like many do at the beginning of the year. If you feel like you've done little or nothing to accomplish that goal, take the first step back towards it and forgive your lack of forward progress. Don't beat yourself up with regrets. What's done is done. You can't change yesterday, but you can make tomorrow happen. If you haven't started thinking about the New Year yet, now might be the time to take a few minutes and jot down some ideas - the more time you take now to familiarize yourself with the goals - the more you are preparing yourself to tackle those fitness goals. Have a great rest of your day! We'll see you back here tomorrow on December1st to tackle our December fitness program, goals and challenges.
