End of October Fitness Goal Checkby Heather Long | More from this Blogger 31 Oct 2006 06:30 AM It's the last day of October and it's time to look back at the month behind us. I think it's important that we take a day to self-assess where we are and where we're going. We've done this for every month of this year and now we're leaving behind the ninth month of the year, as hard as it is to believe, there are only three months left in this year. November is the month we celebrate Thanksgiving. George Washington issued the first national Thanksgiving proclamation in 1789, the year of his inauguration as President of the United States of America. Today, the government recognizes the Thanksgiving holiday and most employees are given the day off. Some companies and most schools also shut down the following Friday. Thanksgiving is a day to give thanks - to the divine, to your family, to your children and even to yourself. Despite the commercialization and associations with turkey , it's a beautiful day to show our appreciation for each other. So we'll be spending a lot of time being grateful next month. What are your plans for November? End of the Month Fitness Goal Check for October
Consider all of the above questions and answer them honestly. There's nothing wrong with admitting that you have been lax in some areas and harder in others. Goal checking lets us take a progress report. We get to see where we are and where we need to be. If you decide that your goals need modification, go for it. There's no law that says you can't alter your goals. In fact, you may have set a fitness goal like many do at the beginning of the year. If you feel like you've done little or nothing to accomplish that goal, take the first step back towards it and forgive your lack of forward progress. Don't beat yourself up with regrets. What's done is done. You can't change yesterday, but you can make tomorrow happen. Have a great rest of your day! We'll see you back here tomorrow on November 1st to tackle our November fitness program, goals and challenges. Have a Happy Halloween!
