Happy Friday everyone! The following are some fitness funnies and motivators that can be a great way to inspire you to hit your target workout on each day you have scheduled to get physical. I like to put these on sticky notes on my equipment or around my computer. They are little reminders of the human factor that we all share but sometimes forget to enjoy.

From PUSH.tv trainer Bob Harper: I'm not perfect. Just like you, I get lazy too. Perfection isn't the goal, persistence is.

From Thomas Fuller, M.D.: Sickness is felt, but health not at all.

From Emerson: The first wealth is health.

From Cher: If it came in a bottle, everybody would have a great body

From Hippocrates: All parts of the body which have a function, if used in moderation and exercised in labors which each is accustomed became thereby healthy, well-developed and age more slowly

From Mickey Mantle: If I knew I was going to live this long, I would have taken better care of myself.

From a Spanish Proverb:A man too busy to take care of his health is like a mechanic too busy to take care of his tools

From Will Rogers: Even if you are on the right track, you'll get run over if you just sit there.

More Funnies to Keep Your Fitness Step:

  • It is well documented that for every minute that you exercise, you add one minute to your life. This enables you at 85 years old to spend an additional 5 months in a nursing home at $5000 per month.
  • My grandmother started walking five miles a day when she was 60. Now she's 97 years old and we don't know where she is.
  • The only reason I would take up exercising is so that I could hear heavy breathing again.
  • I joined a health club last year, spent about 400 bucks. Haven't lost a pound. Apparently you have to show up.
  • I have to exercise early in the morning before my brain figures out what I'm doing.
  • I like long walks, especially when they are taken by people who annoy me.
  • I have flabby thighs, but fortunately my stomach covers them.
  • The advantage of exercising every day is that you die healthier.
  • If you are going to try cross-country skiing, start with a small country.
  • And last but not least: I don't exercise because it makes the ice jump right out of my glass.
