Fitness Review: Leslie Sansone Walk Away the Pounds: Power Mileby Heather Long | More from this Blogger 15 Jan 2007 07:33 AM Good morning and Happy Monday and welcome to our first Fitness Review of a DVD workout available for rental through Netflix or purchase at Amazon. I decided to look at Leslie Sansone's Walk Away the Pounds: Power Mile for my first DVD review. Walking happens to be one of my favorite activities and I enjoy anything that gets me out and moving on my feet whether it's walking the dog, walking the kids to school or walking on the treadmill while I watch my soaps. The Power Mile workout is described as one that will help you walk your way to a smaller pants size and the power mile is all about giving you a challenging, express style workout to meet the demands of a busy lifestyle. Better yet, this DVD is also geared towards working out at home. So let's talk about Leslie Sansone's Walk Away the Pounds: Power Mile. The Power Mile I have to admit that my initial impression of this workout was disappointment. It was not what I was expecting at all. Honestly, I was hoping it focused on an outdoor or treadmill style walking or incorporated some of those aspects. On reflection and after performing the workout for a couple of days, I have to admit that her style of workout is far better than what I expected. First and foremost, this workout can be performed by anyone in his or her home and all you need is a bit of clear space on the floor. It begins with a warm up of walking in place and then increases in tempo. She also adds some weights to the workout, but you don't necessarily need to use the weights, you can simply mimic the motions with empty hands. The workout keeps you moving, your heart rate begins to climb and you will go from walking in place to making sidesteps to walking in place again. You will use the weights to get your arms moving and toned, even as your heart rate increases. The workout itself flies by and at all times, she tells you that if you feel like you can't do something or it's getting to hard, just drop back to walking - don't just stop cold. Summary Review
In conclusion, I'd recommend this DVD for anyone who enjoys a simple, straightforward workout in a short amount of time. We can all afford 20 minutes and this workout makes the most of them. So check it out and I'd love to hear what you think of this workout or any of Leslie Sansone's Walk Away the Pounds exercises series.
