Are you looking for a way to get yourself motivated and working out again? Do you worry that you can't sustain your exercise program without a good method to inspire or drive you? Maybe you just want someone or something to deliver a good swift kick in the pants to get you up and moving?

Here are five ways to get your fitness program back on track:

  • Take a Page from Laura Torres experience - Train for a race or a triathlon. Not only does it give you a goal, but there's also a challenge to putting yourself on a schedule that has a very definitive beginning, middle and end
  • Commute By Foot - Can you walk to work? Walk your kids to school? Walk to the store? If you can get from point A to point B on foot, go for it - just be careful in extreme heat and maybe take your walking in doors if you can whether it's over a lunch hour at the mall or somewhere else
  • Work Out Early - Most people who work out in the morning are more successful in their overall workout goals because they get it out of the way before the day of distractions, obligations and responsibilities kick in
  • Mix and Match - You don't have to do the same thing every day to provide yourself with a good workout, Families.com Community Manager Lisa Pietsch works out every morning, but switches out machines from treadmill to bike to elliptical and this can not only keep you motivated, but keep boredom at bay
  • Exercise with a Friend - A friend, a personal trainer, even your child can help you to stay motivated and on track. My five year old is like my personal workout account manager - she asks me every morning if I've done my workout and if I haven't - she wants to join in and workout with me - accountability, accompaniment and companionship are important tools in fitness success

How do you keep your fitness program on track?
