Fitness Magazine/Fitness Website Review

Fitness magazine is one of the top-selling fitness magazines. One of my favorite magazines it has all kinds of good information in it for anyone wanting to stay in shape. Topics include subject areas, such as weight loss, health, recipes that are good for you, beauty and working out. It is a good read and I have picked up so many tips on staying fit. I cannot say as one section of the magazine was better than the other, as they are all fantastic and helpful for those wanting to shed some extra pounds. A one-year subscription is reasonable and … Continue reading

Friday Fitness Funnies: Things You Don’t Want to Hear

It’s Friday and I have been having discussions lately with moms who work out at fitness clubs, moms who work out chasing their kids and still other moms who work out at home or through regular walking and running through the neighborhood. While all of these moms have different ways of achieving their fitness goals and likely even have different fitness goals, they are united in some ways. When it comes to fitness and exercising, there a lot of things we don’t want to hear. Some of those things include: You need to really sweat You need to work harder … Continue reading

Free Bath & Bodyworks Aromatherapy with any $10 Purchase

We’ve had the “Washington crud” for the last few weeks, and haven’t been able to take advantage of too many deals. I did manage, however, to get my photo book done at 11:45 pm before the discount ended! Anyone know where to find a discount on TheraFlu? Many thanks to those readers who have sent me deals to post. The following is one from Stefanie. Smell is one of our most powerful senses. Scientific studies have shown that women have better olfactory senses than men do, which is probably why perfumes and colognes are usually marketed toward whether women like … Continue reading

Tip of the Day- Laugh!

There’s the belly laugh, the snicker, the chortle, the gurgle, the twitter, and the snort. Did I miss any? How many different ways are there to laugh? More importantly, how many times a day do you laugh? Do you consider yourself a happy person? A recent study found that children laugh about 100 times a day. Adults are lucky if they laugh three times a day. There is something very sad about that. Yes, I mean that literally. Health can really be broken down into three parts: physical, nutritional, and emotional. They all have to work together for your whole … Continue reading

Momma’s on a Diet: How Much Does a Sense of Humor Weigh?

Ok, so it’s a strange question to ask and I bet many of you reading this had a little chuckle, or at least a smile, when you saw it, but I’m being serious here. Surely it must weigh something mustn’t it? I’m wondering because when I’m on a diet, such as the one I’m currently on, eventually I lose my sense of humor. Now at the moment things are fine, but I’m thinking ahead here. Supposing there’s a week when I don’t lose much weight. Or worse, suppose there’s a week when I don’t lose any weight. Or even worse, … Continue reading

Friday Fitness Funnies – These Excuses Don’t Fly

Fridays are a great part of the week – they are the day we kick back and relax and try to wind up our week on a positive note. When we’ve skipped our workouts at some point during the week, we’ll start to feel a bit of nagging guilt because whether we had good excuses for missing the workout or not – we feel guilt for having missed a day. For example, I’ve missed every one of my workouts this week and I know that my excuses were valid – my husband is recovering from major surgery and sleeping a … Continue reading

Friday Fitness Funnies – Coffee or Tea?

I am definitely one of those people who needs the shirt that says: Instant Person – Just Add Coffee. It’s not the caffeine so much as it is my morning ritual of having coffee. Oddly, that only began in the last decade or so. Prior to that I was a tea drinker having grown up in a British household. Since I started my way towards not smoking, I have been falling back on that tea habit because it takes more time to make the tea than it does to start the pot of coffee and there is the waiting for … Continue reading
