Friday Fitness Funnies - These Excuses Don't Flyby Heather Long | More from this Blogger 08 Dec 2006 02:39 PM Fridays are a great part of the week - they are the day we kick back and relax and try to wind up our week on a positive note. When we've skipped our workouts at some point during the week, we'll start to feel a bit of nagging guilt because whether we had good excuses for missing the workout or not - we feel guilt for having missed a day. For example, I've missed every one of my workouts this week and I know that my excuses were valid - my husband is recovering from major surgery and sleeping a lot. Our workout equipment is mostly in the bedroom - so perhaps you can see the dilemma. Still - the guilt is there and so I thought about some of the goofiest excuses I've ever heard or seen for why someone missed their workout and the laughter made me feel a bit better. These are just a few of the excuses that I've heard and one that I could add to this list and that actually did happen was that my dog chewed up one of my weights. It was one of my five-pound hand weights and he chewed all the rubber off of it - I could still use the weight, it was just ugly. At one point, he also chewed through one of the resistance bands on the Bowflex - talk about the dog eating your homework?
