Step Aerobics

I’ve discovered a new form of exercise that I really love. It is step aerobics. Step aerobics is using an elevated platform to step on and off from. Platforms can be set at different heights and there are a variety of steps that can be taken to make it interesting and fun. Step aerobics is popular in many health clubs; however, it is something you can do at home. What I really like about step aerobics is how it allows me to do two things at one time. I can read a book if I am doing the simple method … Continue reading

The step itself is relatively inexpensive and if you are taking a class at a gym, they often provide you with a step for you to use. So what are step aerobics good for? Combating Cardio Obstacles

I will admit that I don’t particularly enjoy a cardio workout. I prefer standing still movements, like plies or on the floor exercises. The truth is that I’m not a fan of intense (or even moderate) movement. But I force myself to do it (although, not as much as I should). The reason is because cardio has so many benefits. First of all, it helps with weight loss. It gives you more energy and can reduce stress levels. But it also has tremendous health benefits, such as reducing your risk of chronic diseases. The American Heart Association (AHA) recommends that … Continue reading

Exercise Clothing

Have you ever given much thought to what you wear when you workout? I have a confession to make about my exercise gear. For the longest time I would workout in my pajamas. It just seemed easier to stay in them since it was the morning, get in my workout and then take a shower and get dressed for the day. Although they were comfortable (which is important when choosing clothing to exercise in), it wasn’t really workable. Take for instance my pajama bottoms which were a bit too loose. Or the longer pants that I would step on. But … Continue reading
