Although the birth of each of my sons was different, I have noticed a similarity between the two experiences in how I feel afterwards. Exercise is hard regardless if you are pregnant or not. It just is. It takes commitment, will-power, and education. For pregnant women exercise is absolutely imperative. Exercise along with diet can almost guarantee a pregnancy free of major complications, manageable labor, and natural delivery. For a large portion of the year, it’s dark when I drive to work at the cats-only boarding facility. Exercise Won’t Decrease Your Chances of Cesarean

Go ahead and exercise during your pregnancy, but don’t expect it to increase your chances of having your “dream birth.” That is one conclusion drawn from a recent research study by Dr. Ruben Barakat and his colleagues, at Universidad Politecnica de Madrid in Spain. The study followed 142 women for the second and third trimesters. Half of them followed a moderate exercise plan and the other half exercised very little or not at all. Swimming is a great exercise choice for pregnancy. It’s low impact and cardiovascular. Exercising in the water helps prepare your body for giving birth. Swimming stregnthens and tones the body.
