Spring Forward to Action 2007: Week 2, Day 2
by Heather Long | More from this Blogger
Welcome to Day 2 of this week, it's Tuesday and I officially have the stomach flu - boo-yah! Yes, I know sarcasm doesn't always translate well when it comes to writing. I recognize that for myself and yes, I don't feel that great at the moment, but I plan to do my best where my workout is concerned.
Daily Goal
The key to working out when you feel sick is to monitor your own physical well-being. If you have a temperature or you are really not feeling up to it, then you need to listen to your body. When you are ill, you have to pay attention to the signals your body gives you. A fever and illness debilitate the body and it can leave you feeling achy and chilled. A workout may leave you feeling worse, but I'm willing to give it a shot because there are many times that I feel a lot better after a workout. So my goal is to do my workout today.
Time Spent
I spent about forty-five minutes. I began with a light warm up of static stretches prior to firing up the DVD. I won't go too much into the DVD's contents, because I'll save that for my review this Friday. I will say I did enjoy the workout and that it might have been a bit too much today, but I was able to meet the challenge.
How I'm Feeling
I'm not feeling my best, but I'm also not my worst. The workout was pretty challenging, but it was also fun. So I did enjoy the fact that I did it and I did enjoy doing it. I'll likely use this DVD a few more times this week, in part for my review and in part because it was fun.
What's Next
I keep pushing forward One of the great things about a fitness challenge is that each day builds into the next. You have to forget that little setbacks don't mean a great deal in the overall scheme of things. Each day feeds into the next and each are but a part of the overall whole. Tomorrow, I will do it better.
Challenges to Overcome
Today's challenge to overcome is to get better and to not let illness get me down. What challenges do you need to overcome today?
