Pilates for Dummies – DVD Review

Pilates Workout for Dummies is a great exercise DVD for beginners and novice students of Pilates. I have never been a fan of Pilates, it’s always seemed ‘too’ hard even when I was in good physical shape, however the basic workout is presented in a very patient manner that I enjoyed. The instructor Michele Dozois explains and demonstrates different mat exercises. I found myself actually enjoying the workout in Pilates as she cautioned against common mistakes and explained how to position the body effectively. Yoga for Dummies – DVD Review

Yoga for Dummies is a designed to provide balanced workout for the mind and the body. These exercises can all be found in Basic Yoga Workout for Dummies For someone who has never practiced yoga, this is a great beginning DVD for first timers. The host is named Sara Ivanhoe. She teaches what she calls the daily dozen. These are 12 basic poses including some challenges and modifications. Ivanhoe has a very approachable voice and a calming manner.
